Only half of the dolphin’s brain sleeps while the other half remains awake!

Seule la moitié du cerveau d'un dauphin dort tandis que l’autre moitié reste éveillée !

Dolphins are capable of what is known as the Unihemispheric sleep, in which only a brain hemisphere goes into a deep sleep while the other remains awake for the control of vital functions like, in the first place, respiration, since this act is voluntary in this animal. This allows dolphins to sleep under water without drowning.
